We take great pride in the exceptional individuals who are part of the organization and strive to help each team member achieve their full potential and career goals.

The breadth and depth of projects, locations, and roles across our operations offer numerous growth and development opportunities throughout the career of our employees, which we supplement with a variety of internal training and coaching programs accessible around the world.

In 2023, some of our training and coaching programs for employees included:

Employee Training

  • We provide in-person and online training courses for all our employees focused on enriching existing skills needed for successful operations and developing new skills in line with the evolution of the industry, technologies, and strategic company objectives.
  • We offer live online and on-demand courses. Our Online Learning Center hosts over a thousand on-demand courses, books, videos, and job aids available to all employees to enhance knowledge of  business skills, leadership development, IT skills, and certification preparation.
  • We measure the training effectiveness through employee feedback and assessments to ensure the achievement of training goals, development of capacities, and continuous improvement.
  • People development goals are a crucial component of our performance scorecard.

Technical and Health & Safety Training

In 2023, over  58,000 hours of training were delivered enterprise wide in areas such as professional development, technical, and health & safety.

Technical and Health & Safety were the most significant portion of training conducted:

  • More than  43,000 hours were dedicated to technical training in 2023.
  • One of the areas with the highest training hours in 2023 focused on ensuring employees’ competence in facility and equipment operations and maintenance.
  • In 2023, employees participated in over 240 technical courses through a combination of in-person classes and online learning.

Professional Development Training

In addition to Technical and Health & Safety Training courses, the main topics of courses offered in-person and online focused on professional development include Leadership, Management, Business Competency Development (LMBCD), Business Ethics, IT/Cybersecurity, and Well-being.

Our Summer Interns program offers a unique learning experience in oil & gas operations, finance, real estate, communications, marketing, and general business for upper-level college students. Interns are given an opportunity to work directly with executives and managers on a project-based internship that directly impacts the company and its strategic objectives.

For our younger students, some of whom are in high school and early college, we partner with the All Stars Project and Cristo Rey, College Prep High School. The All Stars Project prepares inner city youth to enter the professional workforce, pursue educational opportunities, and solve challenges in innovative ways. Each summer, Hunt sponsors students for an internship, in which students are assigned to a department to tackle real-world projects while learning about different career paths and gaining professional skills.

During the school year, we partner with Cristo Rey, College Prep High School, and participate as a Corporate Work Study Program sponsor. Students work at the Hunt Headquarters office one day a week and support day-to-day tasks while learning more about our company.

Employee orientation is conducted to provide a high-level overview of the company’s mission, values, policies, reporting structures, benefit plans, and more to our newest hires. Onboarding employees receive guidance from experienced employees for ease of integration into the organization and its culture. This support contributes to eliminating obstacles, new hires may encounter in their first weeks in the company and helps them to become more productive and feel comfortable in their jobs as quickly as possible.

One of our longest standing career development opportunities is a practice that has been a part of the Hunt culture for decades. We offer rotational, short- and long-term international assignments to employees that benefit both the employee and the Company. International assignments provide our employees with the opportunity for personal and professional development, allowing them to advance their careers and skills, and develop networks that may not be available in their home country. International assignments also provide the Company with the opportunity to fill critical roles, transfer organizational knowledge and culture to a new or foreign office location, and develop key relationships with the local workforce.

We encourage continued education and appreciate the value it can add to our extended team members’ career development. Our Educational Assistance Policy provides employees with the opportunity to supplement their job experience with additional education in particular business-related fields. The Company reimburses participating employees for all tuition, labs, and books upon successful completion of the course.
